    Accommodation

A self-contained, private converted stable block; one double bedroom with en-suite bath and shower room and, downstairs, a sitting/dining room.
Relax in whatever way suits you; enjoy the garden and field, there are tvs in the bedroom and sitting room, which is also equipped with a small fridge/freezer, tea and coffee making facilities.

Upstairs has views over the fields and our vegetable garden, whilst the sitting room’s French doors open out onto a courtyard.

    Breakfast

Breakfast is served in your suite at the time you require it. We try to cater for all tastes; Full English (everything local), Continental or simply fruits or cereals. You can also choose between freshly squeezed orange juice or a fruit smoothie.

There are a number of very good places to eat and drink locally, which we can book for you.

    Places of Interest

The area has on its doorstep some of the most beautiful old market towns, country homes and castles open to the public, and rolling countryside in which to walk, bike or ride. Some of the most popular are:

The market towns of Melton Mowbray, Stamford, Grantham, Oakham and Uppingham
Rutland Water, for water-sports, cycling and bird-watching
Belvoir Castle, including the regimental museum of 17th and 21st Lancers. A film location in The Da Vinci Code
Grimsthorpe Castle, dating from about 1140 with 3,000 acres of rolling gardens, parkland and woodland designed by Capability Brown
Burghley House, home of the horse trials, gardens designed by Capability Brown, and also a film location for The Da Vinci Code and Pride & Prejudice
Tolethorpe Hall, see open air performances in the summer by the acclaimed Stamford Shakespeare Company
Rockingham Castle, dating back to Saxon times and favourite haunt of Charles Dickens
Fotheringhay Castle, the birthplace of Richard III and the scene of execution of Mary Queen of Scots.
Woolsthorpe Manor, birthplace of Sir Isaac Newton
Belton House, film location of BBC’s Pride & Prejudice and Jane Eyre
Harlaxton Manor, a campus for an American University and a film location for, amongst others, 1999’s The Haunting, which took advantage of the combinded Jacobean, Elizabethan and Baroque architecture.

We are just off the A1 in between Stamford and Grantham. From the A1 we are the final house in the village, round a right-angle bend, heading towards the village of Sewstern.
