A truly stunning antique mahogany relief demonstating the Tri Ratna or ‘Triple Jewel of the Dawn of Happiness’. It measures 170cm in length x 110cm in width and 5cm in depth and would make a fantastic table top or unique and spectacular hung on a wall.

A common basis of Buddhism is expressed in what is called the Tri Ratna or Triple Jewel, namely: the Buddha (the enlightened one), the Dharma (the teachings) and the Sangha (the community of monks). The Triple Jewel is central to this floral relief, with floating Lotuses at the base symbolising the Buddha as the cornerstone of Buddhism, the Tuberoses with their pronounced fragrance representing Dharma with its world-permeating quality, and the easily propagated Reed Mace symbolising the Sangha who proclaim the Dharma. This large Tri Ratna, a one-off carved piece of antique mahogany, has five tiers which also represents the five Buddhist fundamental moral precepts, which are the basic rules of conduct and ethics to which followers must adhere on their journey to enlightenment. Sukhothai Tri Ratna, means literally ‘Triple Jewel of the Dawn of Happiness’.
