Harihara is a divine being incorporating Shiva and Vishnu and was redesigned by the Khmer in a brilliant independent style. Shiva is shown on the right with his hair twisted into a chignon, and Vishnu on the left with half his head covered by a mitre. Shown is a sandstone carving of an 8th century example from Trapang Phong, now in the Phnom Penh Museum.
