A lovely architectural piece, from a photograph we took at the temple of Banteay Srei. The temple lies 25km north of Angkor Wat and was completed in 967AD. It contains some of the finest examples of Khmer sculpture in the pink sandstone we use to this day. All the buildings are covered in carvings; Banteay Srei’s ornamentation is incredible with its roofs, pediments and lintels stunningly carved with tongues of flame, coiling naga tails, gods, demons and floral garlands.
